Silent pandemic 'Lyme': mimics 350 diseases!

It is estimated that there are between 7 and 10 million people in Turkey suffering from Lyme disease, which is considered the epidemic of the century and is difficult to diagnose because it is confused with many diseases.

Giving information about Lyme disease, Infectious Diseases and Clinical Microbiology Specialist Prof. Dr. Vedat Turhan noted that the disease can imitate about 350 diseases.

Lyme can be transmitted between spouses and can be transmitted from mothers who have this disease to their children. It starts with the development of a typical lesion at the bite site within 3 to 30 days, on average 7 days after the tick bite.

This lesion is a pale middle skin rash that can reach quite large dimensions and is diagnostic.
